Drop Shipping: Drop Shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details directly to the manufacturer or wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. The drop shipper is invisible to the customer and only known to the retailer.

Wholesale: Wholesaling is the sale of goods or merchandise to retailers, industrial, commercial, institutional, or other professional business users, or to other wholesalers and related subordinated services. In general, it is the sale of goods to anyone other than standard consumer. It often results in commitments to purchasing large quantities of products at any one time.

Steps in a drop ship order:

1. Customer will order an item from the reseller.
2. Reseller will send the order to the drop shipper and pay for wholesale item price.
3. Drop shipper will blind ship¹ the package directly to the customer.
4. Customer receives the item without knowing it was shipped from a drop shipper.

¹Blind shipping means that the package and packing slip does not contain the drop shipper’s logo, company name, nor contact information. The customer must not know that their item is coming from another source.

• Excessive Fees Can Add Up: Some drop shippers charge an excessive amount of fees, such as account setup fees or drop ship fees, in order to have the reseller begin selling their items which can add up over time.
• Occasional Delivery Issues: Discontinued items, backorders, delayed delivery and lost packages are issues that could come up while using a drop ship supplier. Some problems, such as delayed delivery and lost packages, are not the fault of the drop shipper but ends up cutting into their profits and hurting the reseller’s reputation/name.

This doll is of Yang Guifei. In Chinese folklore, she was a woman who was supposed to meet with the emperor for drinks, but when the emperor didn’t show up, she had to drink all the wine for herself. In this traditional Chinese opera, she became known as the Drunken Beauty.

This particular figurine is Diao Chan, one of China’s four famous beauties. She was given to Guan Yu, a military leader by Cao Cao, a rival, who would later become emperor. Guan Yu, suspicious of Cao Cao’s motives, had Diao Chan killed. Her story has continued through Chinese opera and folk stories.
